The Public Safety Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our staff consists of 21 uniformed campus public safety officers, 4 communication dispatchers, 1 administrative assistant, 1 transportation supervisor, 4 administrative staff. Approximately 30 part-time public safety students work in all areas of the department providing support services to the campus community.

We are Seattle University's Department of Public Safety. We are made up of full-time professional staff and part-time student staff who are charged with and committed to protecting the lives and property of our community and the visiting public. Public Safety Officer training includes but is not limited to the following courses/modules. Public Safety officers are generally in training for the first six months of their careers at Seattle University.

• Red Cross (or similar) CPR, AED, and First Aid for Adults, Children, and Infants (instructor-level training available)
• Stop The Bleed Bleeding Control (BCON) (instructor-level training available for eligible staff)
• De-escalation and Defensive Skills (instructor-level training available)

• Bias Incident Identification, Response, Documentation, and Clery Act Reporting
